Sewage Backup Leads to Flooring Removal

A backed-up sewer line caused this tri-level basement and attached garage in Waukesha, WI to flood.  The reason the laminate flooring had to be removed is because the sewage water got under the laminate.  The only way to clean and disinfect and remove potential contaminants and odor requires that the floor be removed.  The photo shows how much water was under the floor where the laminate has already been removed.  

If this contamination is not removed and the structure disinfected, it could lead to people getting sick.
